On December 16, 2019, the first opening ceremony of SIBT was held. Dr. Nith Bunlay, Deputy General Director of the Higher Education Department of MoEYS of Cambodia, Vice Governor and officials from the Department of Education, Youth and Sport of Preah Sihanouk province, leaders and representatives from Wuxi Municipal Government, Hodo Group and Wuxi Vocational Institute of Commerce also attended this historic event. On November 28, 2019, the delegation of SIBT, led by Li Chuanbin, Executive President of SIBT, paid a visit to Wang Wentian, the Chinese ambassador to Cambodia. Mr Li introduced the operation and development of SIBT and forwarded a letter from Minister of Education, Youth and Sports of Cambodia to Minister of Education of China. Ambassador Wang highly commented on the achievements made by SIBT and hoped that SIBT would strive to be a high-quality international higher education institution in Cambodia.
